Full Encirclement Saddles wrap around the pipe and are for reinforcement only, while a hot tap tee will have a beveled outlet that can be welded to. Both can be referred to as “split tees” but they are very different.

The min. Wall thickness and material grade for a saddle would be determined by the run pipe it will go on. For example, a saddle installed on 16” XH X52 pipe would need to be Y52 and have a .500 min wall skirt.

Yes. We carry a Grade B saddle for structural use only and saddles with a minimum wall skirt thickness for use on pipeline. If you’re not sure which is needed give us a call and we can help you.
